Prior to co-founding, in 2011 (with partner Mauricio Umansky), the globally recognized real estate brokerage firm, The Agency, Billy practiced transactional entertainment and real estate law for 10 years, was a senior motion picture talent agent at United Talent Agency (UTA) for five years, and served as president of a successful real estate design and development company for 10 years. Billy’s experience, reputation, and relationships, acquired over 35 years of representing major corporations, A-list celebrities, and public figures, in various capacities and in multiple industries, make Billy uniquely qualified to guide buyers and sellers through what is, ordinarily, the largest financial transaction one undertakes in their lifetime.
Once The Agency’s Broker of Record, General Counsel, Chief Operations Officer, Sales Manager, and President, The Agency has grown to a size, where now all of those roles have been filled with full-time personnel, Billy is, once again, able to focus on what he loves – acting as a counselor, guide and consigliere to people during the exhilarating, stressful, and sometimes terrifying time of buying and selling a home.
Realizing he’s much more effective representing properties about which he’s passionate and enthusiastic, Billy’s practice is “product” driven (as opposed to the more commonly pursued “geographic” model). As a result, he’s known for representing architecturally significant, design-centric and historical homes. “The ‘special stuff’”, he calls it. As a result, rather than focusing on a particular neighborhood or market, Billy represents buyers and sellers across the city – from Silverlake to Malibu (and everywhere in between). “There is so much greatness to LA, and not restricting myself to any one area allows me to be involved with the best that the city has to offer.”
