About Brett Karns

A member of The Agency Studio City, Brett Karns is a trusted professional with 30 years of real estate industry experience, ranging from new development to sales. Straightforward, compassionate and a true expert on the current market, Brett excels at building meaningful relationships with clients in the San Fernando Valley community and beyond.

Brett was first introduced to the real estate industry at a young age by his father, who worked as a broker in Los Angeles. After learning the ropes at the age of 15 while working as an intern his father’s office, Brett went on to pursue his real estate license while obtaining a degree in Business and subsequently became interested in flipping houses. From this interest, Brett’s boutique development firm, WestKoast Properties LLC, was born.

To this day, Brett holds a deep passion for envisioning new projects and developing custom builds while keeping the best interests of the surrounding community top-of-mind. Brett’s talent for development and skill for design has led to multiple ventures, including luxury interior design firm, Brett D. Karns Designs.

In transitioning from the role of developer to real estate agent, Brett has unearthed his lifelong calling. “The ability to aid clients in achieving their real estate goals without a doubt brings me the most joy,” says Brett. “I am so happy to use my knowledge to help change someone’s life for the better. It’s a pleasure and privilege to watch my clients’ next chapter unfold.”

In his spare time, Brett enjoys volunteering with his wife and daughter for causes such as TreePeople LA, Habitat for Humanity, Union Station Homeless Services and Heal the Bay. When he isn’t working or giving back to his community, Brett can be found spending quality time with his family and exploring the scenic hikes throughout Los Angeles’ diverse park system.
