7 Essentials For Your Travel Backpack!

I couldn’t be more excited to pack my bags and jump on a plane to Nicaragua. We’ll be joining our building partner, Habitat for Humanity to build safe homes and meet the families whose lives will be forever changed. While there, we’ll also be presenting the Giveback Homes platform at the Habitat for Humanity International Summit, wish us luck!  But one of my favorite part’s of traveling is packing my backpack, and I’ve gotten pretty good at it!

Here are a few tips and packing essentials:

backpack

  • Snacks! Lots and lots of snacks! I’m not a fan of airport food, so always having something to munch on is muy importante! (especially if you have a layover)
  • Comfort! I got this sweater recently at a John Mayer concert, turns out it was made by Aviator Nation. Two of my favorite things combined to make one incredible sweater
  • TOMS Eyewear! I takethese everywhere, and my croakies make sure they stay on me and don’t get left behind :)
  • Entertainment! Those 15 minutes at take off and landing without electronics is brutal, make sure you have an actual book or magazine to help you kill time. I’ll be reading Insurgent, the second of the Divergent trilogy
  • Capture Everything! My camera stays on top of everything else so I can grab it really fast if I need to! (Don’t forget your charger and an extra battery)
  • First Aid Kit – Hand sanitizer, ibuprofen, band-aids, deodorant (I use mens deodorant), all very handy things to have throughout your trip. Just in case!
  • Backpack! Finally, a backpack to carry it all! My parents gave me this Stone & Cloth backpack last christmas, each one helps provide scholarships for students in need. Pretty cool!
