Summit Funding’s JJ Mazzo has completely funded a home for the Saballos's family. Soon they will have a safe place to call home.

Jaime Saballos is a 44-year-old father who lives with his 41-year-old wife, Iraida Maria. Both were unable to complete primary school, so Jaime sells firewood in nearby San Rafael, and Iraida is a stay-at-home mother. Jaime also works as a farmer; however, they only grow enough food to sustain themselves. They have four children, two of which live with them, 24-year-old Jaime and 14-year-old Daysi Giselle. Young Jaime regularly works with his uncle as a mechanic's assistant. However, he was recently involved in a motorcycle accident and fractured his leg, putting him temporarily out of work.

Their total family income is about $70USD per month. Their daughter Daysi is currently suffering from several serious health issues. She has a kidney infection, as well as a heart condition. She has an inflamed valve and needs open-heart surgery. Recently she spent three days in the hospital with a high fever. The doctors were prepared to move forward with the surgery. However, Daysi's mother Iraida was scared, and they left the hospital instead. Iraida explains that their current situation has been very challenging, and they’ve only dreamed of having a safe, secure home of their own. Their current home is composed of old wood, rusted zinc metal sheets, and a dirt floor.

Summit Funding’s JJ Mazzo joins the fastest growing social good real estate movement in the nation as the newest of member of Giveback Homes and funds a complete home for the Saballos Family in Nicaragua.

Since the official launch in 2013, Giveback Homes, a community of real estate professionals dedicated to giving back to their communities and the world, has successfully provided nearly 100 homes for families in need, and helped build homes throughout the United States. Many of its Members including brokers, real estate agents, and industry leaders have picked up hammers, laid down bricks, and personally hugged the families who would benefit from their donations.

“I couldn’t be any prouder to be able to align my business with Giveback Homes and their great cause. We look forward to participating with local Southern California home builds as well as those worldwide,” stated JJ Mazzo.

Inspired by their work at TOMS Shoes, Giveback Homes is the first real estate social good company that builds homes for families in need, fueled by the passion of real estate professionals. Upon joining the Giveback Homes movement, JJ Mazzo committed to funding a complete home for a family in Nicaragua.

“JJ committed to funding a complete home in our first meeting together and is motivated to grow the movement in Orange County as well,” said Caroline Pinal, Co-Founder. “That kind of leadership is inspiring and we’re excited to work with The Mazzo Group at Summit Funding.”

The Mazzo Group aims to participate in a Giveback Homes Orange County Build Day, in collaboration with Habitat for Humanity. Currently, there are 20 Giveback Homes Build Projects in the U.S. and Nicaragua in partnership with Habitat for Humanity, with many more planned for 2016 and beyond.
