KW Beach Cities Makes an Impact in Inglewood

Keller Williams Beach Cities teamed up with Giveback Homes for a Build Day in Inglewood, California, to bring new housing units to deserving families in need.  The project consisted of the construction of two brand new units and one remodeled home on a 7,500 sq. ft lot.

With the help of Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles, three families will be benefiting from the hard work of KW Beach Cities & Giveback Homes Members.

Gimarchew & Azalech

For Gimarchew and his family, homeownership means the world. Living in a small duplex with his brother and sister’s family, a new home of their own would mean a sense of safety and security as their current home is being threatened to be built over with new properties. Gimarchew and his wife are excited to be working with Habitat for Humanity to help provide a home for themselves and their two kids, Lidiya and Tewodros who enjoy dancing and playing sports.

Tamara Lindsay

Tamara Lindsay is a veteran who served in the U.S. Navy who has been studying court reporting full-time since 2013. Through the help of Habitat for Humanity, Tamara hopes to feel safer in terms of her neighborhood and her home as she has often fought pests. A safe and stable place would give Tamara the loving home she needs so that she can start a family one day.

Elvira & Jonathan

For Elvira Mercado and her son, Jonathan, a new home will resemble a great source of pride and will be like “a dream come true.” Currently living in a tiny one-bedroom apartment and working with the elderly and with aerospace parts, they put Jonathan’s daughter, Ashley, first. An aspiring pianist and swimmer, Ashley is very talented and Jonathan makes it a priority to be involved in his daughter’s life and education and has volunteered at her school for the past eight years. They see this home build as a blessing and opportunity to grow even closer as a family.

Each Partner Family puts in their sweat equity hours and works with Habitat for Humanity to prepare them for owning their very own home in the future. Thanks to KW Beach Cities, they will soon have a place of their own to call home.
