Jessica Northrop Funds Complete Home for Single Mother of Four in Nicaragua

Jessica Northrop is a LIV Sotheby’s International Realty Broker and Giveback Homes Member in Greenwood Village, Colorado. She first traveled with the Giveback Homes team to Nicaragua last year to build a home for Carla and her family. Shortly after returning to the states, Jessica was inspired to help build a home for a family in Colorado. In April of 2017, she brought her team out to help build a home for a local family in need in partnership with Denver Habitat for Humanity. Today, she continues giving back to families in need and is looking forward to providing Martha, a single mother of four, a new home in Nicaragua.

Martha Lorena Sanchez Aguilar

San Rafael del Sur., Nicaragua

Martha Lorena lives with her three sons and a daughter-in-law. She has worked hard as a single mother her entire life and now her kids work to help support her and their family. Martha suffers from diabetes and high blood pressure, which keeps her from working. Martha was only able to make it to 3rd grade, and only one of her sons were able to graduate from high school, while the rest dropped out during primary or secondary school.

Martha Lorena inherited the structure they’re currently living in, from her parents. It is a very small structure made of rotting wood, rusting zinc metal sheets and a dirt floor. Their home floods when it rains, and when the wind blows the roof has come off many times. Martha expresses her gratitude and hope for a future home so she can pass down to her kids.
