Giveback Homes Members in Houston Help Low-Income Senior Repair her Home of 42 Years

Giveback Homes Members in the Houston area will come together on June 8th, 2019 to help repair Ms. Cabral’s home, in partnership with Rebuilding Together Houston. Rebuilding Together is an organization that improves the safety and health of individuals and families by providing critical home repair and renovation services. Ms. Cabral’s home suffered extensive damage from Hurricane Harvey, and Rebuilding Together Houston has stepped in to help and has contractors working to repair the roof, electrical, plumbing and flooring at no cost to Ms. Cabral.

Ms. Cabral is a widow and lives alone. Her son Carlos helps her, and stops by frequently to take care of things. Ms. Cabral has spent the last 42 years living in her home, located in the Denver Harbor - Port Houston neighborhood, a neighborhood that was greatly impacted by Hurricane Harvey.

Giveback Homes Members will be working on the exterior of the home, sealing it from further damage from weather, decay and pests. They'll also complete any remaining carpentry repairs, if necessary, and paint.

We are thankful to our Houston Members for donating and making these repairs possible. Click here to make a tax deductible donation to our Houston Build Project and help more people like Ms. Cabral achieve safe housing.
