The Agency Park City sponsors first Giveback Homes Build Day with Habitat for Humanity of Summit & Wasatch Counties
On Thursday, August 29th, 2019, The Agency Park City will have 20 volunteers come out to support the Silver Creek Village Project with Giveback Homes. Volunteers will help build walls that will eventually be the interior for a 3 bedroom, 1.5 bath, 1,150 square foot single-family energy efficient home.
Giveback Homes, the social good movement in real estate, has partnered with Habitat for Humanity since 2015, raising over a hundred thousand dollars in funding and engaging hundreds of volunteers to help build affordable housing. This Park City build marks the seventh build day with The Agency, the premier brokerage partnership with Giveback Homes, and the 83rd U.S. Build Day overall for Giveback Homes.
Meet the family we are helping:
Kirsten F. is the newest Habitat for Humanity homeowner. She is a single mother with two high school age boys she is busy raising in Park City, Utah. Kirsten is a banking industry professional who applied for every affordable housing in the area to keep her kids in the community where she works.
We were thrilled to have her join us at the groundbreaking celebration for her new home in our Silver Creek Village Development. She was all smiles that day, and even picked a rock from her future home site as a memento of the life-changing occasion.
We look forward to working with Kirsten as she completes her 200 hours of sweat equity, and learns more about building a home.
For this event, 20 volunteers from Giveback Homes and The Agency, including The Agency’s CEO Mauricio Umansky and Giveback Homes Cofounder Caroline Pinal, will help build new homes in the new Silver Creek Village Project, housing available via Habitat for Humanity of Summit & Wasatch Counties. The Silver Creek Village Project aims to design homes so energy efficient that they receive the United States’ Department of Energy’s “Zero Energy Ready Home” certification.
“This event marks our first build day in Park City with The Agency, which will provide residents with affordable and energy efficient housing,” Pinal said.
