Keller Williams On the Water Sarasota Donates and Volunteers to Help Build Two Homes for Two Deserving Families in Sarasota

In Their Fourth Giveback Homes Build Day, 20 Real Estate Professionals Will Help Build New, Affordable Housing in Sarasota

Sarasota, FL – October 25th, 2021 – Keller Williams on the Water Sarasota, a real estate brokerage headquartered in Sarasota, FL, has committed to support local affordable housing through a partnership with Giveback Homes and Habitat for Humanity Sarasota. The Build Day on Friday, October 29th marks the fourth Giveback Homes Build Day sponsored by Keller Williams On the Water Sarasota.

On Friday, October 29th, 2021, volunteers from the real estate brokerage will help build two new homes in Sarasota for two deserving families in need:

  • Cristian is a single father to his four-year-old daughter, and lives with his mother who helps take care of his daughter. Cristian has a career in sales and looks forward to being able to own his own home and give his daughter her own bedroom. Currently, they are sharing a bedroom. Mostly, Cristian is thrilled to purchase an affordable home in Sarasota so his daughter can grow up near her cousins.

  • Steve and Sonya have dreamed of owning a home for their family and have been working hard to make it happen. Steve earned a plumbing license and Sonya is working on her real estate license. They are thrilled that each of their boys will soon have their own room and they look forward to no longer having to take trips to the laundromat.

The homes are being built in Hammock Place, a mixed-income, community, located just minutes from downtown Sarasota. There are 40 single-family homes, and each home is built to exceed green building standards. The community offers a desirable place for families to live while addressing the need for affordable housing in Sarasota.

“We’ve been looking forward to being able to volunteer again.” said Maria Rocha, Realtor and Advocate for Giveback Homes, “We’re building homes and community at the same time, both are equally important.”

Keller Williams on the Water Sarasota joined the Giveback Homes movement in 2017 as the first real estate brokerage to commit to the social good movement in the state of Florida. The team has helped build multiple homes throughout the years, including a home for a single mother of five children, who works as a medical benefit specialist in hospitals and a family who was previously living in a local shelter for victims of domestic violence.

“We’re proud to see the impact that our real estate partners are making in their local communities, said Caroline Pinal, Cofounder of Giveback Homes, “And we are grateful to the hard work and dedication from everyone involved to help these families towards a brighter future.”

Giveback Homes, the social good movement in real estate, has partnered with Habitat for Humanity since 2015, raising over five hundred thousand dollars in funding and engaging hundreds of volunteers to help build affordable housing.
