Nick Schneider Funds His Sixth Home In Nicaragua

A huge thank you to Giveback Homes’ first member Nick Schneider of Hermosa Beach, CA for his generous donation through Giveback Homes to Habitat for Humanity Nicaragua. To date, this is Nick’s sixth home he has helped build in Nicaragua! Nick’s contribution made it possible to build a brand new home for Santiago Sabino Vallecillo and his family.  Here is their story:

Santiago Vallecillos 2

Santiago Sabino Vallecillo is 43 years old and his wife Audely is 35, and the couple have three children. Their family suffers from some health issues, and the hope is a safe, decent home will help them lead healthier lives. Santiago suffers from kidney failure and his son has poor circulation. Santiago’s daughter suffers from malnutrition as well. The family lived in a structure made of wood and metal scraps, where they cooked, sleept and lived all in the same tiny space.

Santiago struggles everyday to support his family with an income of approximately $84 a month. A new home will change the lives of his family and allow them to have a safe, healthy place to live.

The home is now complete and it was an honor to meet the family on our building trip to Nicaragua! Want to help us change lives? Join us in making a difference. Thank you again, Nick!
