Dallas #GivebackBuild Recap With Robin McMonigle
Robin McMonigle of Briggs Freeman Sotheby’s International Realty shares her story from her first #GivebackBuild Day in Dallas and explains the importance of incorporating giving into her everyday business.
Most days you’ll find me in heels and a dress showing a home or looking at a new listing around town, but last Saturday I donned my son’s cargo shorts, a T-shirt and sneakers to build someone a new home. Through my recent affiliation with Giveback Homes, I was honored to experience this special moment in a deserving homeowner’s life and be able to work along side them in building the frame of their new house. Getting involved in the Habit for Humanity program was something I’ve always wanted to do and having Briggs Freeman Sotheby’s International host the first Build Day in Dallas allowed me that opportunity.
Through the Giveback Homes program, I have pledged a percentage of my real estate sales to continue to build homes in Dallas for families in need. Now, every time I sell a client a new home, this donation is seeding the home ownership dream for another family simultaneously. How completely perfect is that! I know that my clients truly appreciate this donation on their behalf. Whether you give your time, talents or bank account, giving back is a philosophy that Dallas embraces and I am happy to participate in. I love showing my four children that there are many ways you can contribute to your community and am working to instill a philanthropic spirit in them. I can’t wait for my entire family to participate in the next Build Day experience!
