Matt Curtis Builds a Home for Aleyda and Noel

UPDATE:

March 19th, 2015

Aleyda told us she really enjoys being able to sit on her sofa and watch tv. She says now she can put her feet on the sofa without making it dirty, because she has a clean concrete floor. She also has lots of posters and family pictures hanging on the walls of the house, to make it more colorful and "alive". Welcome Home Aleyda!

This Holiday Season, our members have been making generous donations and funding homes for families in need. We're happy to announce, Matt Curtis Real Estate has funded a complete home for Aleyda and her family in Nicaragua. This is the second home that Matt Curtis Real Estate has funded with the help of his clients. For every 100 homes they sell in Alabama, they build a complete home for a family in need. Matt believes it is his responsibility to do good with what he has been given. He believes that responsibility is both locally and nationally. Since he is in the housing business, providing housing to fellow humans in need is a great way to invest in the lives of others.

Meet Aleyda and her family! Aleyda and her husband Noel have been married for 15 years, they have two beautiful children, Samaria, who is 15 years old and in high school, and Brian, who is 6 years old and in elementary school. Aleyda has her own home-based business and Noel is a mason. Aleyda has always lived with relatives, often having to move from place to place even during her pregnancy. She later found a government program that was helping lots to citizens in her neighborhood, and she was selected as a beneficiary. Once they had a piece of land, they gradually started building a small structure, made of old wooden boards, plastic tarps, and dirt floors. However, during the rainy season the water pours into their home, soaking everything they own. Unfortunately, both of their incomes have never been enough to build a safe home for their family.

Thanks to Matt Curtis, Aleyda and her family will be recieving a new home. This new home for their family means a healthier, happier life for Aleyda, Noel and their children for generations to come.
