Thanks to a generous donation from The Mazzo Group, Nereyda and her family in El Salvador now have a safe place to call home. This is the 17th home made possible by The Mazzo Group.
Nereyda and her boys were previously living with her husband and their dad, but some serious issues started occurring and he was not treating the family well. One of her sons, Jose (22 years old), has a job in electrical engineering and when his boss found out about the family’s situation, he lent them money to buy land and move into this new community, away from their father. Nereyda’s other son, Jose (6 years old) is in school, likes to spend time drawing, and already wants to start working so he can help his family.

Nereyda works as a machine operator at a nearby factory, earning about $350/month, which helps cover their basic needs, and the monthly payments for Jose’s university, a motorcycle, and laptop that Jose needs for school. Nereyda used all her savings to build the structure they’re currently living in, it’s made of scrap metal, rotting wood, dirt floors, and they share it with another family. Both families look forward to having a home of their own, more space, privacy, and healthier living situations.
