Thanks to a generous donation from The Mazzo Group, Teresa Sanchez Cuellar and her family in El Salvador now have a safe place to call home. This is the 18th home made possible by The Mazzo Group.
Together, Teresa and her late husband have a fourteen-year-old daughter named Adelaida. Teresa’s husband passed this year, and it is still difficult for her to talk about what happened. Teresa is 44 years old and is now the sole provider for her and her daughter. Teresa takes care of their current home while working jobs when she can find them. She provides laundry services to her neighbors and local community, earning less than $100/month to cover food, clothing, and electricity bills. Teresa’s only dream is to help Adelaida move forward in school and have a better life. Adelaida is currently in the ninth grade and her goal is to attend university and study forensic medicine. Both Teresa and Adelaida have dreamed of having a safe home, without dirt floors, and access to clean drinking water. Currently, the structure they are living in is made of rotting material and dirt floors, and the roof has many leaks. Teresa and Adelaida look forward to a fresh start in their new home.
